The synthesizer-crazed duo EMOTIQUON met whilst training as double-decker bus drivers in Glasgow, learning only of each other's electronic music interests whilst passing under a low bridge at a terrifyingly high speed. Starting off with some basic equipment and a laptop computer, Emotiquon gathered their ideas over long sessions in front of flashing lights and cult television comedy shows. Connecting their powerful brains together (using two metal collanders, a car battery, some jump leads and a food blender), the two began to edit their recordings down to manageable pop-sized chunks of audio colour. Emotiquon pursue a love of hypnotic melodies, complex drum rhythms, and rolling bass lines. Scattering samples from their favourite television programs and films throughout their music, they come across as comedic, upbeat, and rather silly. Influences come from a love of 80's electronic pop, to modern electro artists such as Justice & Aphex Twin. With a dash of rock & dub thrown in for spice!
